Mission: To promote understanding of Therapeutic Touch by fostering excellence in Therapeutic Touch practice and education

Therapeutic touch is defined as a practice derived from an ancient technique called laying on of hands. It is based on the premise that healing forces of the therapist affects the patient’s recovery; healing is promoted when the body’s energies are in balance; and, by passing their hands over the patient, healers can identify energy imbalances.

History

Nursing professor Dolories Krieger became acquainted with Dora Kunz in a meditation group. Together they studied the techniques of Hungarian healer Colonel Oszkar Estabany and developed treatment they called Therapeutic Touch.
